The city of Nouva Paris-3 still features trace remnants of the old Paris; new buildings were built right on top of the old ones, creating a layered, vertical urban sprawl. One area of the slums, known as the Underglow, takes its name from the multitude of floating streetlights that have malfunctioned and drifted down into the undercity from the upper districts. They float through the streets, untethered and dimly glowing. The locals affectionately call them 'ghostlights' and allow them to wander wherever they will.

Whoa!! So beautiful. This is like a cooler version of 'Nighthawks at the Diner'.
World building; I love discovering the details of a world a story teller has created!
